Fitness Sports - Running & Walking Shoe Store

I stopped by on the recommendation of my podiatrist for Hokas to further remedy my planters fasciitis.

Recently discovered this hidden gem! We have shopped at the Johnston location for years, however after signing up for a half marathon, I began looking for a group to run with. The Ankeny Running Group meets here on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Kip and Kyle are awesome!

When this space became available, I really wanted it to be a running store, and I was ecstatic when Fitness Sports moved in. It's been very nice to have a running-specific store right in Uptown, with good products and great service. But perhaps the best thing about the store is their commitment to building community.

Excellent experience!! He knew about how your gait and the way you walk was important to what kind of shoe you need. Very friendly and knowledgeable. I forgot his name but he’s a track coach at Centennial High, Ankeny. Thanks so much! I love the shoe he chose for me!

Dear Dudes at Fitness Sports Johnston that asked me to write a review here you go! First, I love that I can just walk to your location, get a new pair of shoes, and get right on the trails to try them out. It is one of the many reasons I love my neighborhood.
